Collector, an exhibition which celebrates the joy of things and the relationship between people and their collections.

Part of the Arcadeum community arts project in Muirhouse, North Edinburgh, the Collector exhibition has grown out of a series of conversations between artist in residence, Hans K Clausen, and local residents over a period of a year.

Motivated by a curiosity around the phenomena of collecting and the power and provenance of objects Clausen brought together a diverse group of individuals who have specialist interests in a wide range of ephemera and who share a common passion for collecting.

Clausen sums up the Collector project as; ‘a cross generational bringing together of people to converse, reminisce and build friendships through the common language of staff.’
